History[]

The band formed in Franklin, Tennessee in 2004, with the founding lineup being Williams and Farro, with Zac’s brother Josh on lead guitar, bassist Jeremy Davis, and rhythm guitarist Jason Bynum. Davis was replaced briefly by John Hempbree before returning a few month later. The band released their debut album, “All We Know Is Falling” in 2005, and it featured the hit single “Pressure.” Bynum left shortly thereafter, and Hunter Lamb took his place. Their sophomore album, “Riot!” hit record store shelves in 2007. It featured their most well-known song, “Misery Business.” Lamb left shortly after it’s release, and was replaced by Taylor York, who completed what is now known as the group’s classic lineup. This lineup recorded the singles “Decode” & “I Caught Myself,” which were both featured on the soundtrack to “Twilight.” They also released their 3rd album, “Brand New Eyes” in 2009 and opened for No Doubt that same year. It featured 3 hit singles; “Ignorance,” “Brick By Boring Brick,” & “The Only Exception.” It was also their last album with the Farro brothers, who both bolted in 2010. Williams, York & Davis decided to forge ahead as a trio, with a new touring lineup including York’s brother Justin on lead guitar, drummer Josh Freese, and guitarist-keyboardist Jon Howard. The band released the single “Monster” in 2011. That same year, Freese was replaced by Jason Pierce, who passed the sticks to Aaron Gillespie the following year. The band’s self-titled 4th album came out in 2013. It marked a dramatic change in the band’s style, which was a more Pop-Rock influenced style, but still keeping the heavy edge heard on previous records. it spawned the hit singles “Ain’t It Fun” and ”Still Into You.” The following year, the band embarked on a co-headlining tour with Fall Out Boy & New Politics dubbed the Monumentour. In 2015, Davis announced his departure from the band after being a member since it’s formation, he was replaced by Joey Howard. The following year, Jon Howard was replaced by Logan MacKenzie. In 2017, Zac Farro announced he was returning to the fold to replace Gillespie. That same year, the band released their 5th album, “After Laughter.” It featured an 80’s-influenced new-wave synth-pop sound, and spawned 4 hit singles with “Hard Times,” “I Told You So,” “Fake Happy” & “Rose-Colored Boy.” The band is currently on a co-headlining tour with Foster The People and will headline the Paramore: Art + Friends festival celebrating the culture of their hometown in September 2018 at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium with COIN, Bully, Canon Blue, Liza Anne, and Nightingail.
