"East Jesus Nowhere" is a song written and recorded by the American punk rock band Green Day. It is the third single from the group's eighth studio album, 21st Century Breakdown. The single was released October 19, 2009. The song rebukes fundamentalist religion and was written by singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong after he attended a church service where a friend's baby was baptized.[1]
